What can be inside a HEIC photo?
Many iPhones save camera photos as HEIC. The format can carry EXIF information such as capture time, device make and model, and GPS coordinates when location recording is enabled. Whether those fields are present depends on the photo and how it was exported or shared.
QuietFrame reads supported EXIF tags from the original HEIC and displays the common privacy fields it can identify. A blank field means the tool did not find a readable value in that field; it is not a complete audit of the HEIC container or every vendor-specific tag.
How to remove HEIC metadata here
- Select the HEIC photo. The tool reads its supported EXIF fields and prepares a local JPEG preview.
- Review the displayed location, device, and date details. Select Remove metadata & verify.
- QuietFrame checks the new JPEG for common EXIF, XMP, IPTC, comment, and other checked JPEG application segments before enabling download.
What if my HEIC does not open?
Some HEIC variants and multi-image files cannot be converted by a browser. The tool uses the first still image when available and stops without a download if inspection or conversion fails. You can export a JPEG from Photos and check that exported file instead. PNG, RAW, and video are outside this tool's current scope.
Removing file metadata does not hide a face, street sign, address, or other location clues visible in the image itself.
